SIM card for IP Camera
Secure networking for IP cameras
Remove the hassle from remote security monitoring with Olivia’s connectivity solution for IP cameras. Securely access your camera via our VPN. Regardless of the number of cameras you need to manage, we offer a solution that fits.
Challenge
Reaching the LAN of your IP Camera or recorder isn’t possible with a ‘regular’ SIM card because of Network Address Translation (NAT).
Solution
Connect to your LAN via the static private IP of the Olivia SIM. Our VPN solutions give you secure access to the static IP
Advantages
The secure tunnel between your camera and server or PC isn’t exposed to the internet for additional security. This fits projects of all sizes.
How does it work?
Using a regular SIM card
To communicate on the internet every device requires an IP address. Since the beginning of the internet so many more devices, like security cameras, required an IP address. There are not enough addresses to give every device an own address. With regular SIM card the IP address is ‘borrowed’ each time you connect to the internet. So when you want to reach the device from your PC of server, you can’t be sure what address to look for and this prevents from reaching the device.
Using the Olivia IoT SIM card
All Olivia IoT SIM cards have a static private IP. This fixed IP address remains the same but is not publicly accessible via your PC or server. To reach your device on this address you need to connect to the Olivia Cloud and we then route you to your device. Connecting to our cloud can be done in many different ways and we help our customers find the best solution that fits there requirements and business case.
IoT/M2M 4G Routers for security cameras
Many security cameras and recorders use a 4G router to connect to the internet. Selecting the right 4G router for your project depends on many factors. From the environment it needs to operate in, to the number of devices it needs to connect. Our team can help you find the right router for your project to ensure unnecessary onsite visits are a thing of the past.
100% Uptime
Security monitoring is always on to catch that one moment. That’s when you have to be sure the security camera can be reached and a high quality live stream is available.
For these situations we offer our 100% uptime solution. Without compromise you are certain to reach your security monitoring systems at all times. Our experts will help you configure the full solution to make it redundant with automatic failover protection.
Technical deepdive
