Teltonika RUT240

Cost-efficient, configurable and small

RUT240 is the little 4G LTE router with many powerful options. Set up the RUT240 as a standalone router for IoT networking via ethernet, WiFi or digital I/O. Its failover protection functionality can automatically switch to 4G when your WAN is unavailable. It’s a great basic router for many use-cases that require advanced networking and security features.

Features

Speeds and connections

The RUT240 is a LTE CAT4 class router that supports speeds up to 100Mbps download and 50Mbps upload. Two port ethernet switches give you the opportunity to share the connection devices. The Wireless Access Point is class N which makes it suitable to support a few connected devices via WiFi. If you want to create a high-speed hotspot, we don’t recommend this router since it’s not class AC required for high speed connections.

Its WAN failover is an easy-to-use solution for many retail stores and small offices. When the internet connection fails, it automatically switches to the 4G back-up connection. This helps these businesses to continue working without interruption.

Well suited for applications in remote locations

One of the most important features for an 4G/LTE router is to keep a connection. The ‘Ping reboot’ gives this router the ability to maintain its connection by automatically rebooting after a set time. This feature is often overlooked, but imagine you can save a visit to the site to reboot the router.

The stick antennas that come with the router provide a good basic reception. But many users of the RUT240 integrate the router and require external antennas. This increases the reception even in remote areas. With rebooting options and great reception, there will be no more site visits when deploying these routers.

The right data plan for any RUT240 use-case

Flexible data for backup connection

When using the RUT240 router as WAN failover protection we recommend to use our flexible Pay-as-you-Go plan. A minimum monthly fee is charged to keep the connection alive and data charges only occur when the backup connection is used those few times a year.

Data plan for 4G/LTE as primary connection

Using cellular as the primary connection usually results in a consistent data usage per month. With our pooled data plans routers can share available data between them.

Data plan to remotely reach the router via PC or server

To reach the router remotely you can choose to set up a VPN from the router itself or build a secure tunnel from our mobile core to your endpoint. This will keep your traffic from the public internet and allows you to remotely access your router without a public fixed IP address. Our many VPN solutions will fit any project and budget.
